The PI-Cassette™ is a specialized cell sampling and staining device for viability and cell count applications with the NucleoCounter® NC-3000™ instrument. It contains immobilized propidium iodide (PI) in its interior flow channels.
Approximately 60 µl of cell sample is loaded into the cassette, dissolving the PI and mixing to stain the nuclei of dead cells. PI-Cassettes™ can be used to perform viability and cell counts in conjunction with Reagent A100 and Reagent B for mammalian cells, and Reagent Y100 for yeast cells. Cells are subsequently analyzed on the NucleoCounter® NC-3000™.
