NucleoCounter® NC-3000™ Advanced Image Cytometer
Visual verification of the count
When counting manually the scientist can visually verify the counting. This verification of the count can likewise be performed with the intuitive NucleoView™ software included with the NC-3000™. Scatter plots and images are interlinked making it possible to verify cell populations visually.
The accompanying NucleoView™ software allows for easy coupling between the obtained image and plots showing fluorescence for precise determination of the events to count.
Read MoreCounting cells in clumps with NucleoCounter® NC-3000™
The NucleoCounter® NC-3000™ can count cells even from a sample of highly aggregated cells or cells growing in clumps. In the Aggregated Cells Assay, the total cell count derives from a lyzed aliquot of the sample (see schematic representation below). Lysis disrupts the cell membrane, dismantles clumps and releases nuclei into suspension. Nuclei are stained by DAPI and automatically counted. Because dead cells are typically less abundant and tend to detach from aggregates, the dead cell count is determined from the non-lyzed aliquot (figure below). The combination of these two measurements results in high precision and accuracy for even the most difficult clumps.
Cell cycle analysis
Cell cycle analysis is the most fundamental method to establish anomalies in cell division and thereby symptoms of cell damage. With ChemoMetec’s unique 2-step cell cycle a cell cycle can be performed in 5 minutes including treatment of cells! A cell cycle profile will readily be displayed in the accompanying PlotManager software and percentage or numbers of events in G0/G1, S-phase, G2 and sub-G1 can be identified.
A safe, non-toxic cell counting system
A closed cell counting system that uses self-contained disposable cassettes, helps the user stay protected when handling samples. No pipettes, no exposure to (toxic) reagents, and minimal clean-up make the NucleoCounter® system a safe option.
