Reagent C is used to permeabilize the cell membrane of dispersed cells in suspension samples. It can be used for dispersed mammalian cells, somatic cells in milk and certain strains of yeast cells.
Reagent C permeabilizes the cell wall and membranes, rendering the DNA of the cells susceptible to staining with propidium iodide (PI). Also, Reagent C dilutes the sample and acts as a buffer suitable for fluorescent detection of PI-stained DNA. Please refer to the specific Application Notes for detailed instructions.
